Sprint through August

Visiting Lake Naivasha with friends from DC (and Nigeria)

Over the next several weeks I have many visitors arriving plus a couple of exciting trips coming up. August is going to be a busy month!

Starting with 5 amazing teachers/trainers from Washington, DC, our team landed last weekend and led a professional development week for the teachers of New Hope Academy Kibera. I am so grateful that these women agreed to fly half way around the world to serve New Hope. They are incredibly gifted bringing decades of experience, expertise and a quality of training that is unmatched. New Hope could not train our teachers at this level without their commitment and sacrifice.

Next up are two more friends from DC. They are coming to just hang out with me! Little do they know that I am about to put them to work in our Project Biashara! But the reward will be great as I am planning a safari trip to the Mara for them.

New Hope has started a new project in Ethiopia. I’ll be traveling there for a week this month to help train the leaders of a new partner school. I am hoping to encourage them in their leadership skills and build community among the staff there. I’ve started planning some fun stuff for them. Please pray for me as I prepare and as I go to encourage them and help them be better leaders as they serve children in a small community outside Addis.

Lastly, to top off August, my friend, Emily, is coming – also from DC. Can’t wait to be with her! We are planning a trip to Zanzibar, so I can finally get my beach fix! I have definitely miss the American summer and time at the beach with the salt, humidity and heat!

Please pray for me this August, for strength and endurance, for safe travels for myself and our visitors and that our work would benefit New Hope and the individuals we serve.

Watch for photos and posts about all that’s happening.
